A training session on “Effective Communication and Presentation Techniques” was held in collaboration between the Career Center and the Office of Human Resources at Konya Technical University.
During the training session organized as part of our university’s professional development programs, participants were provided with information on how to deliver effective presentations, how to incorporate research findings into a text, the impact of visual aids on a presentation, the importance of body language, and what to do to keep the audience engaged and capture their attention.
The event, held in the Conference Hall of the KTÜN Development Campus and featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçeklioğlu from Mersin University as the speaker, was attended by our secretary-general, our assistant secretaries-general, our department heads, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of our students.
“Pre-presentation preparation is very important”
Following the opening remarks by Dr. Resul Çelik, Director of the Career Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçeklioğlu took the stage and shared tips on effective communication and body language, as well as advice for successful presentations, with the participants. Emphasizing in his speech the great importance of delivering effective presentations in today’s business and academic worlds, Çiçeklioğlu stated, “Whether you’re presenting a project or giving a speech, you need to master some basic presentation techniques to capture your audience’s attention and convey your message accurately. “First and foremost, this requires thorough preparation before the presentation, checking everything in advance to prevent any glitches, and a comprehensive preparation process to overcome stage fright,” he said.
“The Power of Effective Communication”
Noting that strong communication lies at the heart of a successful presentation, Çiçeklioğlu said, “With strong communication, effective delivery, and the right body language, you can make your presentations much more successful. Communication is made possible when the speaker conveys their message in a clear, understandable, and engaging manner. To achieve this, tone of voice, word choice, and delivery style are of great importance. Maintaining eye contact with the audience, using a sincere tone, and conveying the message clearly are among the critical elements of a successful presentation,” he said.
At the end of the program, our University’s Secretary General, Kamil Gök, presented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçeklioğlu with a certificate of appreciation for his effective presentation. The training concluded with a group photo to commemorate the day.
