Our university organized an orientation program for the 2026–2027 academic year to support incoming students as they adjust to academic and social life. The program provided a comprehensive overview of the academic, social, and cultural opportunities offered by the university and addressed students’ questions about university life.
Held in the Prof. Dr. Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the program was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik; our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Nurettin Çetinkaya and Prof. Dr. Ali Köken; Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences Prof. Dr. Mustafa Servet Kıran, Secretary General Kamil Gök, as well as academic and administrative staff and students.
STUDENTS WERE INFORMED ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY
As part of the program, comprehensive information was provided about the services students may need throughout their university lives and the departments they can contact.
Ali Gezen, Branch Director of the Office of Student Affairs, explained the services provided by the Office, the opportunities available to students during their academic careers, and the application processes. Sultan Dur, Branch Director of the Office of Health, Culture, and Sports, provided information on a wide range of topics, from nutrition and sports services to student clubs, as well as social and cultural events and activities designed to support students’ participation in campus life.
Osman Keskin from the Career Center provided information on internships, job opportunities, and career paths to help students plan their careers throughout their academic lives, while Merve Gül Kocakoğlu, Assistant Professor and Director of the Psychological Counseling, Guidance, Application, and Research Center, introduced the psychological counseling, guidance, and motivational support services available to students.
Another key topic of the program was the fight against addiction. Prof. Dr. Yağmur Küçükbezirci, President of the Yeşilay Konya Branch, aimed to raise awareness by sharing information with students on types of addiction, prevention, and healthy living.
