Medium of Instruction: Turkish

Program Description: The Konya Technical University Industrial Engineering Department was founded in 1992 and graduated its first students in 1996. In the fall of 1997, a Master's Program with Thesis was established, followed by a Master's Program without Thesis in Evening Education in the fall of 2003, and a Ph.D. program in the fall of 2015. The department's education continues in three departments: Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, and Ergonomics. The program's medium of instruction is Turkish. Courses in the Department of Industrial Engineering are taught both theoretically and practically. Many of our students have been sent abroad as part of the ERASMUS program since the fall semester of the 2007-2008 academic year. MÜDEK has accredited the department as of September 30, 2011. In addition to the undergraduate program, the Industrial Engineering Department also offers Master's and Doctorate degrees. Given the critical importance of well-trained manpower in the development of the country and in fields of international competition, our department and faculty make every effort to improve the quality of both undergraduate and graduate education to the extent that resources are available. It should never be forgotten that youth, particularly well-educated university students, play an important role in a country's economic, social, and cultural development and progress.

Admission Requirements: Candidates for admission to the Industrial Engineering Department of Konya Technical University's Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences must have completed high school or the equivalent and obtained sufficient points for the department in the student selection exams held throughout the country for that academic year. The documents required for new students who have the right to register for the central university examination are also announced to students on the university's website. Aside from that, foreign students are admitted in accordance with the Konya Technical University Directive for Admission of Foreign  students at Associate and Undergraduate level. Additionally, students applying for lateral and vertical transfers are admitted to the department up to a specified quota. On the university's website, you may find the rules governing the conditions and application of lateral and vertical transfer. According to the Konya Technical University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations, students who plan to enroll in the industrial engineering undergraduate program should not be registered in any other formal, open, or distance undergraduate programs with quota limitations.

Recognition of Prior Learning:  The department's Adaptation Committee assesses students' prior knowledge in light of the department's curriculum and takes the required choices. According to the "Regulations on the Principles of Transition, Double Major and Minor Between the Programs at the Associate Degree and Undergraduate at Higher Education Institutions and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer," the Committee accepts students for undergraduate transfers at the undergraduate degree and double major and minor program among other departments of our university.

Graduation Requirements: In order to graduate from the Industrial Engineering Program, a student must have taken and passed all required program courses, as well as completed all applications, internships, and similar studies satisfactorily. The student's minimum GPA also must be at least 2.00.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: The Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation of Konya Technical University is used to develop the principles of assessment and evaluation for the Industrial Engineering Program.

Employment Possibilities: Thanks to their education in industrial engineering, our graduates are successful at fusing the viewpoints of the social sciences with the technological sciences. Our graduates work in a variety of industries, from high-tech manufacturing to banking and insurance services, from tourism to the healthcare sector. The following areas are where our graduates are employed by the organizations in the aforementioned industries: strategic planning and business development, quality planning and management, human resources, production planning and control, research-development and innovation, budgeting and investment analysis, logistics and supply chain management, project planning, management consulting, information systems management, and human factors engineering.

Transition to High Education (graduate) Programs:  Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education in our department can study in their own field or related fields in postgraduate programs based on their ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) and YDS (Foreign Language Exam) exam scores. Furthermore, if they meet the requirements of the relevant institution, they can pursue postgraduate studies at various universities around the world.
