Konya Technical University Strengthens Academic and Institutional Cooperation in Kosovo

Kosovo – May 11-16, 2025

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Staff Week programme, Vice Rector of Konya Technical University (KTUN) Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci and International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy carried out a series of official visits in Kosovo. In addition to meetings with universities and project partners, the delegation also engaged with several Turkish institutions and organizations active in the region, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange knowledge on higher education and cultural initiatives.

 

The programme began with a visit to the Kosovo – Pristina Program Coordination Office of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), which has played a significant role in strengthening Türkiye–Kosovo relations since 2004 through numerous projects. During the meeting with TİKA Kosovo Coordinator Fulya Aslan and Deputy Coordinator Kemal Derin, potential joint projects and cooperation opportunities in higher education were discussed.

 

Later on, Yunus Emre Institute Priština Turkish Cultural Centre was visited, and a productive meeting was held with Institute Coordinator Ramazan Yılmaz regarding potential academic and cultural collaborations between the two institutions. Yılmaz underlined his strong interest in fostering joint initiatives between KTUN and Kosovo universities, particularly those with Faculties of Engineering and Architecture.

 

In addition, a meeting was held with the Education Counselor of the Turkish Ministry of National Education in Pristina, Mr. Veysel Erdel. The meeting primarily focused on examamination and admission procedures concerning both Turkish students in Kosovo and Kosovar students planning to pursue higher education in Türkiye.

 

The KTUN delegation also met with Coordinator Mehmet Nedim Aslan at the Turkish Maarif Foundation Kosovo Office. The meeting explored opportunities for academic and project-based cooperation between KTUN and schools affiliated with the Foundation in Kosovo.

 

Moreover, the programme included a meeting with Mayor Abdülhadi Krasniç of Mamuşa Municipality, the only Turkish municipality in Kosovo. During the meeting, it was emphasized that it would be highly gratifying if Kosovar Turkish students preferred Konya Technical University for their higher education, and the academic opportunities offered by the university were introduced.

 

As the final part of the visit programme, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Pristina was visited and a meeting was held with Embassy Counselor Şeyda Çimeli Aydın. The meeting underlined the importance of maintaining strong academic contacts with universities and institutions in Kosovo, while also addressing project applications and potential areas of collaboration.

 

 

 

 

 

Konya Technical University Holds Academic Contacts in Kosovo

Konya Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci and International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy attended the Erasmus+ International Staff Week hosted by AAB College in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. As part of their programme, the delegation carried out a series of significant academic visits and cooperation meetings.

 

The international event, bringing together more than 50 participants from 13 different countries, provided a platform to present KTUN’s academic structure, internationalization vision, and ongoing projects, thereby paving the way for new academic collaborations.

 

As part of the visit, meetings were held with AAB College Rector Prof. Dr. Blerim Olluri and Vice Rector for International Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venera Llunji, and in addition to ongoing project-based cooperation, opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the faculties of architecture were also discussed.

 

During the visit to "Isa Boletini" University of Mitrovica, a partner institution in a project proposal currently under evaluation, meetings were held with Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Projects Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edita Bekteshi and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sabri Abdulahi. Potential academic collaborations and joint conference organizations between engineering faculties were discussed.

 

At the University of Pristina, one of the country’s long-establisghed higher education institutions, a meeting was held with the Vice Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, and preparations were initiated for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) including summer education programmes and bilateral cooperation between engineering departments. Furthermore, discussions with Prof. Dr. Ergin Jable and Dr. Fatih Kemik from the Department of Turkology focused on Turkish language education and academic activities at the university.

 

At the last part of the programme, the University ‘Ukshin Hoti’ Prizren campus, located in Prizren, Kosovo, the city with a notable Turkish community, was visited. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdan Kervan, Vice Rector for International Cooperation. The agreement lays the foundation for strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions,  focuses on joint initiatives with regards to project applications.

 

   

  

 

 

 

 

Strengthening Ties with Uzbekistan: Cooperation Protocol Signed with Navoi State University

Konya Technical University –  May 5, 2025

 

An important step has been taken to foster the friendship and cooperation between our university and Navoi State University in Uzbekistan, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two institutions.

 

Representing Konya Technical University at the signing ceremony were Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, Secretary General Kamil Gök, International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, and International Relations staff member Hilal Yayla. Navoi State University was represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Mukhiddin B. Kalonov and his Assistant, Qilichov Jasur.

The visit of Navoi State University Rector Prof. Dr. Mukhiddin B. Kalonov to our university served as an important milestone in establishing and enhancing relations between the two institutions, paving the way for joint academic, cultural, and scientific initiatives. During the meeting, potential areas of cooperation and joint activities were discussed, and both sides agreed to take concrete steps towards further developing institutional ties.

 

 

 

 

 

Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Konya Technical University and Isa Boletini University

The long-standing cooperation discussions between Konya Technical University and Isa Boletini University, located in Mitrovica, Kosovo, reached a significant milestone on March 5, 2025. The agreement was formalized with a Cooperation Protocol during an online meeting attended by representatives of both universities.

 

Representing Konya Technical University were Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, and International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl. From Isa Boletini University, participants included Rector Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, Vice Rector for International Relations Edita Bekteshi, and International Relations representatives Ms. Elvedina Ismajli and Mr. Abdullah Sadiku.

 

The protocol officially establishes collaboration between the two universities in academic, cultural, and scientific fields. Planned areas of cooperation include joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programmes, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional ties. This significant step is expected to enhance the quality of education at both universities, deepen their international engagement, and further strengthen educational relations between Kosovo and Türkiye.

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Dr. Kazi Md. Salim Newaz Visited the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, KTUN – December 26, 2024

 

Prof. Dr. Kazi Md. Salim Newaz, faculty member of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, visited our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. During his visit, Prof. Newaz met with the academic staff of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and related disciplines, and delivered a seminar titled “Synthesis of Nanofluids and Their Role in Heat Energy Transfer.” Following an engaging Q&A session, the seminar concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift as a symbol of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Newaz by Asst. Prof. Dr. Okan Demir, Co-Head of the Department.

 

 

 

 

 

Collaboration Meeting Held Between KTUN and AZMIU

Vice Rector of Konya Technical University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, and International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl had an online meeting with Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction's Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nigar Aslanova; Vice Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Nergiz Abdullayeva; Scientific Research Branch Manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Reyhan Ekberli; and Könül Şirinova.

 

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening collaboration between the two universities was emphasized, and the details of the Cooperation Protocol planned to be signed in the near future, were discussed.

 

 

 

 

 

Collaboration Meeting Held Between KTUN and AAB College

Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, and International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl held an online meeting with Vice Rector of Kolegji AAB University, Venera Llunji, and Education Coordinator, Dr. Engin Melekoğlu. Faculty Members from the University of Petroșani Visited Our Coordination Office

Dr. Camelia Madear and Dr. Gelu Madear, faculty members from the University of Petroșani in Romania, visited our Coordination Office together with our Computer Engineering Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Erkan Ülker. The meeting, held by our International Relations Vice Coordinator, Dr. Teslime Gökgöl, focused on potential projects regarding Erasmus+ Programme and collaboration opportunuties between the two universities.

 

 

 

 

 

Representatives from the State Agency for Science and Higher Education of Azerbaijan Visited Our Coordination Office

Konya Technical University – October 21, 2024

 

Project Manager of the International Cooperation Department of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ali Eynaliyev, and his colleague Ms. Aytaj Ibrahimli visited our International Relations Office. It was discussed the significance of academic collaboration and potential joint initiatives with Azerbaijani universities at the meeting, held by International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl.

 

 

 

 

 

Cooperation Protocol Signed Between KTUN and RIU
Online – October 15, 2024

 

A Cooperation Protocol applying to broad areas of cooperation such as staff and student exchange programmes, joint research degrees, dual degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as collaborative conferences, symposiums, seminars, events, and research projects, was signed between Konya Technical University and Rudny Industrial University.

 

The online meeting was attended by Rudny Industrial University Rector Prof. Dr. Nurbek Pazharbekovich Saparkhojayev, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Larissa Leonidovna Bozhko, and International Cooperation Official Ms. Adilet Yessenbekov. On the other side, Konya Technical University was represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, and International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl.
