Our University Participated in the APAIE 2026 Conference Held in Hong Kong

Our university strengthened its international collaborations by participating in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2026 Conference held in Hong Kong, conducting bilateral meetings with many universities and making important contacts for new academic partnerships.

A STRATEGIC GATHERING IN GLOBAL EDUCATION

The APAIE 2026 Conference and Exhibition, organized this year by the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE), one of the most important Asia-Pacific-centered organizations in the field of international higher education, was held in Hong Kong under the theme “Asia-Pacific Partnerships for Global Good.”

Hosted by the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event brought together approximately 2,500 participants from more than 65 countries and over 500 higher education institutions. Attended by university administrators, representatives of international offices, policymakers, and education service providers, the event served as a strategic platform for cross-border cooperation and policy dialogue in an increasingly complex global education environment.

Within the scope of the five-day program, plenary sessions, parallel panels, research presentations, and an international education exhibition were organized. Topics such as student and staff mobility, institutional partnerships, sustainability, digital transformation, and the changing role of higher education in society were among the prominent themes of the conference.

OUR UNIVERSITY TOOK PART IN THE “STUDY IN TÜRKİYE” PAVILION

Our university took part in the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion, established at the exhibition under the coordination of the Turkish National Agency, and introduced Türkiye’s higher education potential to international stakeholders.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, held numerous meetings with Turkish and foreign university representatives, especially İlker Astarcı, President of the Turkish National Agency. Our Rector’s Advisor, Prof. Dr. Bayram Akdemir, also attended the event and held important meetings.

During the exhibition, in bilateral contacts with universities from different geographies, especially the Asia-Pacific region, issues such as student and staff mobility, joint research projects, double degree programs, and academic collaborations were discussed. It was reported that important steps were taken during these meetings toward improving existing agreements and establishing new institutional partnerships.
