Our university achieved a significant success in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, announced by Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most prestigious higher education ranking organizations.
Within the scope of THE’s evaluation, conducted on the basis of multidimensional performance indicators such as teaching quality, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry collaborations, Konya Technical University succeeded in being included in the world rankings in the fields of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
GLOBAL RANKING SUCCESS IN THE FIELD OF ENGINEERING
KTÜN was placed in the 1251+ band worldwide in the field of Engineering. Our university, which was among the 79 universities from Türkiye able to enter the rankings in this field, once again demonstrated its visibility at the national and international level through its academic output in engineering, research capacity, and focus on applied sciences.
INTERNATIONAL VISIBILITY IN THE FIELD OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES
In the field of Physical Sciences, our university achieved an important success by being placed in the 1001–1250 band worldwide. Being among the 56 universities from Türkiye able to enter the rankings in this field, the university thus had its academic performance in the basic and applied sciences recognized at the international level.
Our university also drew attention by ranking 18th in Türkiye in the “International Outlook” indicator in the field of Physical Sciences. This achievement shows that our university demonstrates strong performance in terms of internationally co-authored publications, academic collaborations, integration into global academic networks, and international academic attractiveness.
RESEARCH-ORIENTED AND SUSTAINABLE ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT
The THE World University Rankings by Subject are of great importance in making universities’ field-based strengths visible, measuring their international academic competitiveness, and providing data-based contributions to institutional strategies. Our university’s inclusion in these rankings in the fields of engineering and physical sciences is regarded as a concrete indicator of its research-oriented development strategy, qualified academic staff, and vision of internationalization.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, included the following statements in his evaluation regarding this achievement: “We take great satisfaction in the fact that the research-oriented, qualified, and sustainable academic development approach we have adopted since our establishment has found recognition at the international level. Our inclusion in the Times Higher Education 2026 World University Rankings by Subject in the fields of engineering and physical sciences is an important indicator of our university’s scientific production capacity, academic human resources, and vision of internationalization.
