Konya Technical University (KTÜN) visited Bürotime, Turkey's global brand in the office furniture industry. At the meeting held at Bürotime Plaza, views on the steps taken within the scope of university-industry cooperation were shared among our Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. H. Selçuk Halkacı and the accompanying committee, and Board Members of Bürotime, Mehmet Tosunoğlu and Mevlüt Tosunoğlu.

 

During the visit in which views on the steps taken within the scope of university-industry cooperation were shared with the officials of Bürotime, the leading office furniture brand of Konya, our Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik who listened to the demands of the office furniture industry stated that as Konya Technical University, they can provide qualified human resources for the needs of the sector with a total of 13 .000 students in associate, undergraduate and graduate degrees. He stated that they can increase the number of students working on a project basis in order to encourage the employment of postgraduate and doctoral researchers in the fields needed by the sector.

 

Bürotime Board Member Mevlüt Tosunoğlu stated that they were extremely pleased with the visit of the rector and academics of Konya Technical University and said, “As Bürotime, we are ready for all kinds of cooperation with our universities on a project basis. Within the scope of the cooperation agreements we made with universities, we aim to provide a solution to the "practice" problem, which is an important problem of the education system, by providing internship opportunities to the students of engineering and design faculties. We are currently supporting the thesis studies of 2 graduate students at KTÜN. We exchange ideas with KTÜN academics on a project basis. We can offer more support to the students of Konya Technical University during their internship processes and their thesis studies.”

 

In this regard, 1 PhD student from the department of Interior Architecture and 1 graduate student from the department of Architecture, who are among the Advisory Board Members of the KTÜN Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture, carry out thesis studies on relevant topics within the scope of university-industry cooperation in connection with Bürotime.

 

After the meeting, the committee of KTÜN examined the Bürotime Store and Konya Private Kamer College. Drawing attention to the exemplary works it has done in the field of education recently, Bürotime conveyed the usage areas of office furniture in the education sector to the committee of KTÜN.

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Prof. Dr. Mine Ulusoy, Assistant Deans of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Assoc. Dr. Murat Oral and Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Topçu, and the lecturers of the Department of Interior Architecture, Dr. Ceyhun Şekerci and Dr. Melih Kurnalı accompanied our Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik and our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. H. Selçuk Halkacı on their visit to Bürotime.
