Konya Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik visited the teams that will represent Konya Technical University in the final of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival to be held in Gaziantep on 24-27 September 2020, which is supported by Ministry of Industry and Technology, Turkish Technology Team Foundation and organizations that play a critical role in national technology development in Turkey.
During this visit, Rector's Advisor, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hakan Terzioğlu and Director of Vocational School of Technical Sciences Prof. Dr. Cemil Sungur accompanied Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik.
Rector Özçelik visited the following teams and their academic advisors in their laboratory and got information about the competitions and their projects: Gökdoğan, RACLAB-Tunga, Merküt-İHA, RACLAB-Göktuğ, Griffin UAV and Doruk teams that will compete in the Fixed Wing Category of International UAV Races; Green Chemistry team in the Environment and Energy Technologies category; The Stingray team in Technologies for Humanity – Disaster Management category; AGROCV and Agro Kartal in the Agricultural Technologies Category and KTUNSAT to compete in TÜRKSAT Model Satellite Competition.
Rector Prof. Dr. Özçelik stated that they achieved an important degree by competing in TEKNOFEST last year and said that they believe in their students this year as well. Rector Özçelik said, “Due to the Covid-19 process, which affected the whole world, we spent the last spring semester with distance education. Despite this, I believe that our advisors and students prepared well for the competition with their efforts. As a university, we have made an effort to be there for our students in every matter they need. I believe that our teams that will represent our university in the TEKNOFEST final that will take place in Gaziantep will return with important degrees. Whatever the result, we want to see our students on such platforms and be a partner in their efforts. I congratulate our teams and advisors for their efforts and wish them success.”
