'Orange Flag' to KTUN at the Accessible University Awards

Konya Technical University (KTUN) Faculty of Architecture and Design won the "Orange Flag Award" at the Barrier-free University Flag Awards organized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).

 

In this year's award ceremony, traditionally given by YÖK since 2018 and held with the themes of "barrier-free access" and "barrier-free education", "barrier-free university flag awards" were presented to higher education institutions in 3 categories (“accessibility in space”, “accessibility in education” and “accessibility in sociocultural activities”) and the "barrier-free program medal" was presented to the relevant university programs made accessible to different groups with disabilities.

 

431 applications were received for the Barrier-Free University Flag Awards – “Accessibility in Space Flag Award" and 41 universities were awarded 118 Orange Flag Awards. In the ceremony which was held with the participation of YÖK President Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç by video conference method due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Konya Technical University Faculty of Architecture and Design was among the universities that received the 2020 Space Accessibility Award (Orange Flag).

 

KTUN aims to receive the Barrier-Free University and YÖK Physical Accessibility Flag Awards (Blue and Green Flag), which will be held in 2021, upon the completion of the studies it has started within the scope of the "Barrier-Free University" project.
